Question |
I enter a URL in the "New Download" dialog box, but when I press OK a dialog box appears: "The entered URL does not contain the file name". What does this mean? |
Answer |
The URL (Uniform Resource Locator) you enter in the "New Download" dialog box needs to consist of three parts: the protocol (either ftp:// or http://), site name - for example www.netleech.com, and the file path on the site - for example /NLInst.exe. Thus a typical URL has to look like http://www.netleech.com/NLInst3.exe. | |

Question | What is FTP PASV mode? |
| Answer | Usually, when retrieving files over FTP, two connections are used: control and data. Control connection is established by client, data connection is established by server. In some cases (when using firewall for instance) both connections have to be established by client. In such cases server goes to passive mode when "PASV" command is sent from client. | |
